Owner: Free State of Bavaria
Engineering: Riedel Bau
Support: MEVA Formwork- Systeme GmbH, Munich Branch, Germany
Large building site in the Bavarian town of Regensburg, where work on the new Bavarian Museum of History is in full swing. The work is presided over by the Free State Construction Authority. The state government is investing a total of €67.3 million in the new museum on the Danube.
As part of the museum, the new socalled Bavariathek will convey the history of Bavaria as an innovative media archive. Construction work is scheduled to open in time for the Free State‘s 100th birthday in 2018.
One of the main reasons for the rapid progress of the construction work lies in the formwork and safety solutions for all wall, core, column and slab work as well as planning and support.
Top concrete finish with Mammut 350 and the alkus all-plastic facing
The Mammut 350 wall formwork system was used for the building‘s walls. With its large-format panels and the
high fresh-concrete pressure load of 100 kN/m², Mammut 350 enables high concrete walls to be poured quickly. Furthermore, the concrete surfaces were subject to stringent requirements, which were met without problem thanks to the series-production alkus all-plastic facing.
Safety in focus
Inherently safe, modular, and quickly assembled: With SecuritBasic, a modular system is available comprising of a safe access ladder, access hatches and a secure work platform. As the brace frames are attached to the rear of the work platform, the walkway is free of trip hazards and obstacles. Securit- Basic is assembled on the ground and brought into position by crane using a standard crane hook. The CaroFalt column formwork used here also has fully integrated safety equipment with an access ladder, a safety cage and a work platform. During the concrete pouring operations the tried-andtested BKB 125 foldable pouring platform once again proved its worth as a particularly simple, quick and effective
