Construction of the new Bürkert Campus in Criesbach, Germany

Bürkert is a world leader in measuring and controls technology for liquids and gases. Thanks to worlwide growth, Bürkert is investing in new headquarters in Criesbach-Ingelfingen in Germany. The new 21150 m² complex will stand as a visible commitment of the company to its native region and comprises production facilities, offices, a new high bay warehouse, training centre, underground parking garage and Casino with meeting and conference facilities. It is presently the largest building site in the region. Construction is progressing on schedule.

Building during normal operations

Efficient workflow is essential, so that construction work does not interfere with the company‘s running operations. In addition, strict environmental obligations apply with regard to water protection.

High architectural demands and flood control measures along the Kocher river

The Bürkert Campus is distinguished by its sophisticated architectural design. Flood protection on the banks of the Kocher river requires the ground level of the building to lie above the level of the 1993 centennial flood. The underground parking garage under the training centre serves as flooding reserve.

25000 m² of slabs poured

The complex geometries and footprints of the new buildings precluded slab tables and flex solutions for the in situ slabs. Instead, the slab formwork system MevaDec proved its flexibility, speed and labour-saving cost-effectiveness. An inventory of only 3500 m² of formwork material was required to pour 25000 m² of slab area in tight cycles and fast schedules.

High slabs with cantilevering areas supported by MEP shoring system

A high-performance shoring solution with simple, but effective edge protection was needed to pour slabs and large cantilevering areas at a height of 7.20 m. The shoring system MEP handled the high loads easily and safely. Fall protection measures at the slab edges were quickly in place using guard railing posts and the MEVA FormSet safety mesh, attached directly to the panels and primary beams of the MevaDec slab system.

Concrete finish on the slabs that stay as poured with MevaDec

All MevaDec panels are equipped with the all-plastic facing alkus. It delivers a superior and smooth concrete finish from the first pour to the last. The architects of the new Bürkert Campus approved of the clean imprints of panels and beams on the concrete slabs‘ underside. The high-quality concrete finish meant that many slab areas could be left as poured – without any subsequent touching or cosmetic measures.
